Easy posting ! You might want to write something here and pray for an answer. This is not really intended as a forum, but you could try to use it as such. To make it all fast and easy it is not required that you sign-up, but it is a lot nicer if you do. Do I need to say that spam posts will get removed and those spammers get banned from here? I hope that that is not really needed. Enjoy and do not abuse the easy board settings. I'm not looking forward to clean the board from spam and subsequent enforce signing up :-) Ah... you can use this space to upload your pictures from Carriacou. A fast upload from your computer, and if you signup as a member you can make sort of a gallery here.

Health hazard at Paradise Inn 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
This thread discusses the Content article: Health hazard at Paradise Inn

Yep, every time when I visit Paradise there's this smelly pond.
When Joe and Elin were running the Paradise Inn, Joe sometimes managed to kill the mosquitos by pooring diesel on the surface and setting it on fire.
But since they had to leave things got a lot worse...
I am surprised that the board of tourism has not made them fill the pond and oblige a better sanitation there.

can you suggest a better place to stay, close or on the beach? Heading down that way in a month.
Thanks

Crab holes are breeding ground for mosquitos 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I just read about the smelly pond beside the Paradise Inn restaurant.

I noticed the smell as well, and it looked very nasty indeed.

But whats more : on that part of the beach there are many, many crab holes above
the floodline, below the trees and below the rooms of Paradise Inn.
These holes fill with rainwater and make the most ideal mosquito breeding
grounds.
When we stayed in the Inn for two days we couldnt sleep if we did not cover
ourselves with OFF, a sweet smelling mozzie repellent.
Later we moved to Ades dream in Hillsborough where we were not bothered by
insects.
Carriacou was lots of fun then, and we will return to Ades for sure.

This hotel is a disgrace for Carriacou 3 Months ago
What a terrible situation....
I really wonder why they still keep this hotel and restaurant open.
I was there last year with my husband and our two sons of 8 and 12.
Hardly ever was there food available when we were hungry.
Very restricted menu, and several times there was not even bread for breakfast.
I was extremely disappointed with the entire service. The rooms were dirty, and we suspected that the cleaner had gone through the contents of our luggage.
Regarding the mosquitos : Indeed the rooms and surroundings were infested with mosquitos in the evening and at night. We had brought our own mosquito nets, otherwise we would have become aneamic after these days in the socalled Paradise Inn.

The positiven part was, that we enjoyed the island. Really kind people and no mass tourism. We will be back, but will probably rent a villa the next time.
