Grenada will host a Caribbean Financial Action Task Force, for the country’s third financial review from October 20th – 31st. The team includes 6 specialists in the areas of finance and law.
In preparation for the review, the supervisory authority held a series of workshops with local financial institutions to ensure that they are able to combat money laundering.
And now, one week before the financial task force arrives, Chairperson of the supervisory authority Patricia Antoine - Clyne says Grenada is ready.
The team will spend the first 7 days doing interviews with senior officials in financial institutions, the Ministry of Finance as well as the FIU unit.
They will then work on a draft report and spend the final day in an exit interview with the Attorney General.
Mrs. Antoine – Clyne says they will now work with non financial institutions.
