Health hazard at Paradise Inn |

The picture below demonstrates a serious danger for tourists visiting the
Paradise Inn.
Despite many suggestions to solve this problem, the owner has not bothered to
get rid of this health risk.
Now, after several years, it is time to write about this disgrace in order to urge the nhotel owner for a
change in this situation.
 Waste water and garbage contaminating hotel grounds The toilets of the Paradise Inn bar and restaurant are located right beside this pond, and
deposits end in this waterhole.
A bad smell is the result, the water is green and dense with mosquito larvae.
The bottom of this pit and its surroundings are mixed with large amounts of
broken glass.
This as a result of bar visitors and staff throwing the broken bottles
and glasses in here.
Do you want to urge the owner and staff to clean this spot ?

Anse La Roche in the region
Prospect is a long
sandy beach on Carriacou.
It is reachable by foot or by boat, the latter being the easiest way.
You should visit Anse la Roche as soon as possible, because planned construction
nearby will partly reduce the charm of this desolated beach.
 Very
quiet with hardly any tourism over here (yet). Good snorkling on the left and
right hand side of the beach.
There are no bars at Anse La Roche, but the tourism board has provided for a
little shelter with some info in the center of the bay. No public toilets.
You'll have to bring your own refreshments and take the remains with you again
please. It is a unspoilt gem, a long curved stretch of pure white sand. Good
snorkling on both sides of the beach.
The water is usually very clear, but after rough weather or strong current the
visibility will be less.
 This
is one of the most scenic and secret beaches in the Grenadines. A striking rock
formation thrusts itself up just a hundred feet or so off shore and supports
interesting marine life below. Pelicans have chosen the rock as their basis for
an easy catch. They just sit on top, watchinh the waters below them waiting for
a mjummy meal. Once the victim is in sight they only have to plunge forward and
scoop.
The sandy beach is superb and if you're lucky you'll have it to yourself at off
times. A bit course on some places with pieces of dead coral under your feet.
But that is easy solved by going fifty metres further where the waves have not
apported the larger bits.
Waves at the shoreline vary a lot here. Depending on many factors the shorebreak
can be between 20 cms and 2 metres. In the latter case you would know because
when there are big waves here, the waters around the entire island are rough.
 Accessibility
to this beach is via a rigorous mile long trail, somewhat steep but well marked,
or by speedboat. If you arrive by boat you will have to pick a day without too
much shorebreak, otherwise disembarking and later on getting on board could be
difficult.
Snorkeling At Anse La Roche
On the right hand side of the beach (looking towards the sea) : very nice
snorkeling almost right from the beach. A few huge brain corals, Creole Wrasse
and lots of othe small coloured reef fish. Occasional (non aggressive) rays
coming close to the shore at the sandy part bordering the coral.
Around the corner here the variety of fish and their sizes increase. Large sea
fans. In the middle of the bay , on the sand there are many sand dollars. They
can be found at two or three metres depth. Often when you pick an old one up it
pulverizes between your fingers.
On the left side of the beach is the large rock. Around this rock is a favorite
spot for locals to go spearfishing. Be carefull when there is a large swell.
It's easy to get smacked against the rocks here, so keep distance.
