A Petition for Carriacou & Petite Martinque’s Secession/Autonomy from the
State of Grenada

Government, laying its foundation on such principles and
organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most

Now is the time for Carriacou and Petite Martinique to grow up and take her
rightful place as an equal among all the world's small great nations by
becoming her own separate country. Never will Carriacou reach her own bright
destiny while she remains under the control of an uncaring and distant
guardian who is openly controlled by forces hostile to the sovereign
prosperity of Carriacou. Should a Grenada- based government which uses
Carriacou for her money, which uses Carriacou for her natural resources, which
abandoned Carriacou years ago, should such a colonial institution control and
determine the fate and future of Carriacouans and Petite Martiniquans?.
Only Carriacouans and PM'ers can and should decide Carriacou and PM's future.
Independence after decades of Grenadian misrule and abuse is the only viable
option remaining for Carriacouans and PM’ers..
Free Carriacou from the systemically corrupt and stacked deck Grenada- based
political system and we will see Carriacou and PM blossom into the rose of the
Caribbean.
The case for Carriacou’s secession is as follows:
Carriacou has been abandoned by the Grenada - based Government for almost 50
years.
Carriacou and Petite Martinique are geographically located about 20 miles
north of Grenada, the combined population of Carriacou and PM is approximately
10,000. With Carriacou containing 7,000 and PM 3,000. Presently Carriacou and
PM are dependencies of The State of Grenada.
The Carriacou and PM Party (CAPMAP) was created in Oct. 2006 to bring about
the peaceful secession from the State of Grenada and the political and
economic independence of Carriacou and PM from Grenada.
It is our firm belief that Carriacouans residing on the island of Carriacou
and Carriacouans in the Diaspora would like to see Carriacou & PM become an
independent state with all the rights and privileges that the United Nations
charter allows member states. We believe that it will be in the best interest
of Carriacou & PM and indeed Grenada that this separation is realized at the
earliest opportunity.
As an independent state Carriacouans and PMers can make decisions about there
lives and future with out permission from a foreign entity called Grenada.
Our petition seeks to validate our noble cause by asking the following
questions of ALL residents of Carriacou of Petite Martinique, native born
Carriacouans and PM’ers and Carriacouans and PM’ers in the Diaspora to sign
this petition YES or NO when ask the following questions.
In light of the historical neglect and exploitation of the people of Carriacou
and PM by the State of Grenada and its successive governments over the past 50
years, do you agree that Carriacou & PM should secede from the State of
Grenada and form it’s own independent State?

Steamed Flying Fish
These fishes, which grow to around 15 inches long, live on the surface of
the ocean and do not actually fly. They leap into the air and spread their
enlarged pectoral fins allowing them to glide over the ocean's surface
with recorded distances of over 600 feet. However, the normal distance is
around 30 feet.
Yield:
4 servings
Ingredients:
- 8 flying fish fillets
- 3 limes
- 1 tbs salt
- 3 tbs fish Seasoning
- 1 large onion sliced
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 1 green bell pepper cut in julienne
strips
- ½ oz fresh thyme
- ½ oz fresh marjoram
- 1 tsp parsley chopped
- 1 large tomato chopped
- 1 tsp limejuice
- 2 cups water
- ½ tsp hot pepper sauce
- ½ tsp curry powder
- 3 tbs margarine
- seasoned salt to taste
Method:
Rub the fish with the juice of the limes and the salt and leave to stand
for 10 minutes.
Rinse the fish and pat dry with paper towels, then rub in the Barbadian
Seasoning. Roll each up (like a sausage) and secure with a toothpick.
Heat the margarine in a saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic for 3
minutes, or until the onions become transparent. Add the tomato and
parsley and continue to cook for a further 2 minutes. Tie the thyme and
marjoram together and add to the pan together with the remaining
ingredients - except the fish. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and
simmer for 10 minutes. Add the fish and continue to simmer for 10 minutes.

Here follows a simple to make recipe from the Caribbean islands.
It is a very common dish on Carriacou and throughout the whole of te Grenadines.
Ingredients:
- 4-6 medium ochroes
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 piece of cooked salt beef
Preparation:
Slice ochroes, cut salt meat in small pieces add one cup of water and boil
until soft. Swizzle.
Mix the cornmeal with one cup of cold water, and stir into the boiling liquid.
Cook until thick and smotth, beating all the time. If desired turn into
greased mould.
Notes:
Coo-Coo is usually served with
fried fish or fish stew.
