Paradise Inn Beach Hotel

Located on the beachline of L'Esterre on Carriacou.  This beach is commonly known as Paradise Beach, and by most tourists considered the best beach for spending your holidays. Bright white sand, hardly any construction on the shoreline, and still close to some small shops and rumshops. Between Hillsborough and Tyrrel Bay the hotel is a perfect starting point to explore the island. Have a look at the villages of Carriacou. After a full renovation in 2004 we have reopened the hotel to run it according to our philosophy : to make the inn a 'second home from home'.

So what can you expect here? A dip in the sea, breakfast on the beach, have a chat with the villagers and then let one of the local guys bring you to Sandy Island for some snorkeling in the afternoon. Return for an afternoon snack to our restaurant before snoozing in a hammock while you have a caribbean siesta. In the evening, despite of the few tourists that visit Carriacou, there is always some reason for a "Lime" . A Lime is the Caribbean expression for any amount of people getting together on any place for any type of conversation. Just chatting and talking, some Island gossip and news, the typical way of social contact that is so often forgotten in the big cities of modern society.

The hotelrooms of Paradise Inn Carriacou are large and bright. The high ceiling with fan helps keeping your room at a pleasant temperature during tday and night. The bathrooms are equally large, many of our guests prefer a dip in the sea in the early morning hours or late afternoon and then rinse the salt off in the outside showers beside our beach bar. We are now offering a special discount diving arrangement : 7 days hotel and 12 dives for only 490 US dollars.

One of the great advantages of being so close to the water, that most likely you will prefer to use the sea for waking up in the morning, just before breakfast in our restaurant . Enjoy your coffee with view of Sandy Island , the tranquility and the sound of the waves are a perfect companion while you enjoy breakfast with exotic fruits and home baked bread. If you bring your diving log, we can arrange for some spectacular diving trips , the waters around Carriacou are amongst the best in the world for a fantastic underwater experience. But  if you are reluctant to go underwater with bottles, just plunge in the water anywhere around the island , and you will see the most beautiful colours and creatures.

For those who come visiting Carriacou by boat, many people like to moor leewards of Sandy Island which is in front of our hotel. Drop your dinghy in the water and reach our bar and restaurant in five minutes.

Carriacou, Unspoilt Secret

You will feel like you have Paradise to yourself. You are more likely to meet a local fisherman on the beach here than another tourist, and we can guarantee that you won't be hassled and nagged on the beach to buy this or that. It's up to you to tell us what you desire, and we will provide. In front of the hotel is Sandy Island. We can take you there with our water taxi. Sandy Island has an interior lagoon, where you can see some beautiful coloured fish in kneedeep water. Outside Sandy, all around there's fantastic snorkeling and diving with corals and bigger fish.

Seen from the beach, on the left of Sandy Island is another, bigger and greener island, Mabouya. That island is ideal for some hiking expeditions. You will find Iguanas here and various other interesting species of flora and fauna. If you go there late afternoon, we advise you to bring a large quatity of mosquito repellant. For some reason there are more mozzies on Mabouya then on the Carriacou mainland. Good tip against mosquitos . Around Mabouya are spectacular places for diving. Beautiful corals, loads of fish in all colours and sizes.
