KIDO : About KERS and the YWF-KIDO Foundation KERS and the YWF-KIDO Foundation work to accomplish the mission of preserving the natural ecosystems, arts, heritage, and encourage sustainable development of the Southern Grenadines by: YWF-KIDO Foundation is a non profit, non governmental organization (NGO) registered in Grenada, West Indies. We partner with local community based organizations (CBO) to promote and facilitate sustainable environmental and social development projects such as the European Union Sub Project 7 for High North Park, the British High Commissioner for school-based training programs, and the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) for computer training and construction of a community center.KIDO Project was founded in 1991 as a private sanctuary for wildlife and a proposed base for integrating grass roots conservation and environmental education with academic research. Quiet and secluded, KERS is an ideal setting for a diverse array of biological and ecological field studies. KERS has been host to researchers from several universities within the US, Europe, Cananda, and the Caribbean. While actively facilitating academic research projects and conservation efforts, we strive to involve student and adult participation in all aspects of conservation, biology, and environmental studies including interested participants and naturalists/ecotourists from Carriacou and abroad.

Marina Fastigi, Administrator and Director
Trained as a sociaologist, Dr. Fastigi now works at the grass-roots
level throughout the Caribbean planning strategies for sustainable
development in small islands states. Her involvement in local
environmental initiatives and educational programs is an integral
component of efforts to integrate academic research into everyday
life and policy in Carriacou and other Caribbean islands.
Accomplished skipper and circumnavigator, Mr. Sandrini's experience and knowledge of the sea provide an excellent platform for a variety of ocean-based studies. Aboard the 57' catamaran Hokule'a, researchers and students have an ideal base for observation and investigation on near-coastal and marine biology, including reef and marine mammal studies.
