L'Esterre is a small village along Paradise Beach. You will find some shops, bars and restaurants here, with a failry good choice within the islands limits. In L'Esterre you will find the art gallery of Canute Calliste, the islands most famous artist. Anse la Roche is a beautful beach where you will most likely be with your own company, since it is about 25 minutes walking from the closest village. A great destination to reach by boat. Perfect snorkling. Mabouya Island is a perfect place to go hiking and enjoy the unspoilt nature. Excelent diving around the Island with sharks and beautiful corals. This is where the locals go spearfishing. Sandy Island, the perfect picture postcard island with sparkling white beaches and a little bit of sparse vegetation. Go snorkling in the interior lagoon. Perfect mooring for boats on the interior, but be carefull not to drop your anchor on the reef. White Island is a perfect day excursion . Get there by boat in the morning, bring some food and drinks and enjoy the marvelous snorkling and diving in the cristalclear waters. Hillsborough is the main village on Carriacou. The Osprey ferry arrives here. There's a small museum and botanical gardens. Tyrell bay is the preferred harbouring place for many sailors in this region. The village harveyvale has a yacht haulout, you will find some places to dine like a fine pizzeria , and as usual several rumshops. Lauriston Airport on Carriacou. Here the planes from Grenada, Union and Barbados arrive. It's a great view when the planes arrive and you see it disappearing between the palmtrees. Flying the small interisland planes is good fun and relatively cheap. Jack a Dan, ideal training dive ground with shallow reefs , sea fans and lots of corals. Harveyvale is a village with a few shops , restaurants bars and other facilities. There is the yacht haulout here, and the mooring in Tyrell Bay is excelent. The swamps can be used for boat shelter during hurricanes. Visit the oyster beds.
